Warm Spray of Seawater

by Delores Lowe Friedman

You feel like a warm spray from the Caribbean sea,

Waking me from a billowy sleep.

A stupor, I was so buried in, a cloak of sadness so very deep.

But you reminded me of your touch, awakening my melancholic soul,

Finding my joy again in my rebirthing,

Mending , healing me, making me whole.

A fine spray of sea, a soft breeze, your caring sigh,

Recollections of yesterday, loving touches of time gone by,

Offering me hope for my tomorrow,

For I am now letting my child’s hand go.

I pray that she meets a joyous marriage in your care.

And you’ll always hold her close and dear.

Keep her always in your close embrace,

For I have given her my heart, and bits of my very soul,

You, please give her, your enduring love and grace.

A wish for my new novel, Tangled Dreams to share with you my readers, whose words I cherish.
